The corona restrictions are increasingly being lifted and traveling with public transportation is allowed again for unnecessary travels. That’s why I decided to go on a short trip in my own country. I brought my mother with me and together we went to The Hague for one weekend and the monday. We went by train and stayed in a hotel in the center of The Hague for two night.
Hotel: Holiday Inn Express The Hague – Parliament
In The Hague we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express The Hague – Parliament hotel for two nights. The hotel was conveniently in the center of The Hague, which is why we chose this one. Near the hotel you will immediately find a square with restaurants. The busy shopping streets are also just around the corner from the hotel. Besides, the hotel is also not far from the train station, so we did not have to walk through the entire city with our suitcases to get to the hotel.
Our hotel room looked very clean and modern. We had a room with two single beds that you could easily slide apart. The bathroom had a wonderful shower and everything needed. I did miss a small make-up mirror in the bathroom. The room also had a TV and a kettle with supplies for coffee and tea. The hotel also has free wifi!
Breakfast In Paper Bags
At the time we went, no food was served in the hotel itself because of corona. However, you could still get breakfast with your stay. You receive a form when you check in where you can fill in what you want for breakfast. In the morning you can pick up your breakfast in a paper bag in the dining room, but you have to eat it in your hotel room. If you don’t think it’s cozy enough to eat breakfast in the hotel room, there are plenty of restaurants near the hotel. Obviously, the hotel allowed to have food delivered with Uber Eats.
Shopping In The Hague
Actually, we didn’t do much more in The Hague than shopping, walking through the city, relaxing in the hotel room and eating. Most stores are fully open again without having to make an appointment, but there is a limit to the number of customers that a store can let in at the same time.
Especially on Saturday and Sunday it was busy at the stores and I often had to queue. However, I did have to make an appointment at the Bijenkorf. Most importantly, there was no queue and only a few people at the Bijenkorf, so I had all the time in the world to stroll through the beauty section!
Drinks In The Hague
At the time, sitting outside at restaurants was allowed, but sitting inside wasn’t allowed yet. The two of us sat down on the terrace at Bar & Restaurant Milú and drank some cocktails (one without alcohol for me ofcourse). The weather that weekend was sunny and warm, so we enjoyed the sun. Most importantly, the mojitos were delicious!
We really enjoyed our weekend trip to The Hague! The stay at the Holiday Inn Express The Hague – Parliament hotel was very pleasant, we enjoyed the sunny weather and the amazing food & drinks and we bought some amazing items at the stores!
