It’s very difficult to find the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe. I prefer my cookies to be soft baked with dark chocolate chips. My chocolate chip cookie recipe is such a success, that I always have to hand the cookies out to friends and I am often asked to share the recipe. That’s why I decided to publish my classic chocolate chip cookie recipe on my blog.
Have fun baking! I hope you will enjoy these chocolate chip cookies as much as I do!
–120g unsalted butter (at room temperature)
–75g light brown sugar
–240g wheat flour
–1 pinch of salt
–½ tsp baking soda
–100g dark chocolate chips
Step 1: If you’re using a bar of chocolate instead of chocolate chips, start by chopping the chocolate into smaller pieces. Firstly, mix the butter (at room temperature) with the light brown sugar until well mixed. Add the egg to the butter and sugar mixture and mix it again until you get a smooth consistency.
Step 2: Now it’s time to add the dry ingredients. Sift the flour and fold it into the butter, sugar and egg mixture along with the salt and baking soda. Fold in the chocolate as well and knead shortly. When you think the cookie dough has reached the right consistency (make sure it is not too crumbly), cover the dough with saran wrap and let it rest for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
Step 3: After the cookie dough has been chilling in the fridge, it’s time to bake them! Start with preheating the oven to 180 °C and cover a baking tray with parchment paper, so you’re preparations are all set. Divide the dough into balls. It doesn’t matter how many you make or how big or small, just shape them however you would like. Divide the dough balls over the baking tray. Leave enough space between them, because they will expand in the oven. Leave them as balls if you prefer them more soft baked or flatten them a bit for more crunchy cookies. Bake the cookies in the oven for 10 minutes and let them cool down a bit.
Voila! That’s it now, you’ve got yourself a bunch of yummy chocolate chip cookies! This is my first time writing a recipe on my blog and doing food photography, so it’s not perfect. I hope you enjoyed my classic chocolate chip cookie recipe as much as I do. I would like it if you would leave feedback in the comments about this arcitle. All tips and suggestions are welcome!
